Not only was it great news, it was amazing. Dr. S said that he pinched him (and that it might leave a mark :) ) and he moved his legs, and then he went ahead and moved them on his own after that. We are so incredibly thankful, blessed beyond understanding with your thoughts and prayers.
Since, Dr. I has been back to see him (we still haven't gotten to go back!), and Isaac has been extubated (another wow!), and Dr. I asked him if he would move his arms, to which he apparently responded with an abrupt "no." He then asked him to move his legs, and Isaac again responded with a quick "no."
We understand this is a a disjointed post, but we have now been back and seen Isaac. He is understandably cranky. He is tired, and obviously still a little scared. However, he is already responding to questions, he is moving his arms and head freely, and whenever he feels like it, he is already allowed to drink and eat whenever he feels like it. It is truly an amazing time right now. We know tonight will be a long night, as a cranky little boy + buzzing nurses all night long = tough sleeping conditions. But, as you might expect, we are incredibly thankful for everything we have been given. It is a long day, but well worth it as we start to prepare for his transition to the floor (which will hopefully be late tomorrow sometime).
Again, while repetitive, thank you all for everything!
Thinking of you all. So glad to hear such positive news! Isaac is such a tough cookie!!! Hope you all get some good rest today! :)
